The European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) exists to accelerate the clinical development of new or improved health technologies for the identification, treatment and prevention of poverty-related and neglected infectious diseases, including (re-)emerging diseases.
EDCTP provides funding for integrated projects to conduct clinical trials. These integrated projects combine clinical trials with capacity building and networking. These components must be closely integrated to ensure that capacity development and established networks are used to successfully conduct clinical trials in line with best practice and promote the sustainability of clinical research capacity in Africa.
With the aim of strengthening research capacity in Africa, supporting the careers of researchers and strengthening national health research systems, two calls have been launched whose deadline is June 29 2023 (HORIZON-JU-GH-EDCTP3-2023-01) and September 28 2023 (HORIZON-JU-GH-EDCTP3-2023-02-two-stage).
