The EUROINVENT International Invention Show in Iași is considered by specialists to be the largest invention show in South-Eastern Europe. It is organized annually by the Technical University "Gheorghe Asachi" and the University "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" in Iasi, Romanian Inventors Forum, Europe Direct Iasi, under the auspices of IFIA, WIIPA, under the high patronage of the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitalization.
The Scientific Senate of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania is a partner of the 7-year Euroinvent event. Being in its 13th edition, the fair took place online, between May 20-22.
The prize, worth 10,000 lei, is offered by the Scientific Senate of the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania. It was won by a team from the Faculty of Medical Bioengineering at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Grigore Popa" in Iasi, with an innovative paper: "Intelligent orthosis for the correction of postural defects."
The invention relates to an intelligent orthosis, equipped with inertial sensors, capable of calculating the angles of inclination of the spine in a portable monitoring system, which records the variations of curvature of the spine.
