We welcome the new ROHEALTH member: Transylvania University of Brasov (UniTBv)
Currently, Transilvania University of Brasov (UNITBV) is the largest university in the center of the country, a comprehensive university that offers programs in 43 fields of science such as mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, computers, construction, forestry, wood engineering, product design, food and tourism, computer science, mathematics, economic sciences, medicine, psychology, pedagogy, music, linguistics, law, sociology, and social work.
There are 100 bachelor's degree programs in the university: 83 in the full-time education form (IF), 6 in the form of part-time education (IFR) and 11 in the distance education form (ID), 74 master's degree programs (70 IF and 4 IFR) and 18 doctoral fields (IF and FR).
The educational offer correlates with the professional requirements of the labor market, especially concerning masters and continuing education programs. There are in the structure of the university programs designed in collaboration with companies that are traditional employers of UNITBV graduates, as well as there are niche programs, which anticipate the need of society for professionalization in new areas of knowledge.
In 2020, 140 grants, projects, and contracts for scientific research and technical assistance were implemented within the university, with a total value of the amounts collected of 2,462,377 euros.
In 2020, 568 scientific papers indexed in the ISI Web of Science (WoS) / Clarivate Analytics database were published (partial data, March 8, 2021). There has been an increase in the number of teachers and researchers who publish articles in prestigious journals and an increase in the number of articles published in journals with very good scientometric quotations (i.e., impact factor, relative influence score).
