The Research and Development Station for Cattle Breeding Dancu, Iaşi, located in the N-E part of the city of Iaşi, has been operating since 1981, as a Research and Development unit in the field of animal husbandry.

Research and Development activity of SCDCB-Dancu focuses on the field of:

• the breeding, exploitation and improvement of bulls for the purpose of forming populations, performing and adapted to national conditions, belonging to the Balțata cu Negru Rânească race;
• the development of bull breeding biotechnologies;
• nutrition and control of animal products of the milk-meat type;
• the development of scientific and technological capacity at regional and national level;
• dissemination of information and modern growing and exploitation technologies, in accordance with European norms, to beneficiaries in the field;
