BOOST is a Horizon Europe project under the WIDERA TALENTS programme, created to empower early-career researchers in Widening countries by enhancing their career development, mobility, and entrepreneurial skills.

The project addresses the critical gap between academic excellence and innovation application in regions with lower R&I performance. By supporting talent through practical training, secondments, and personalised mentoring, BOOST contributes to building resilient, inclusive research ecosystems across Europe.

BOOST narrows the gap between academic excellence and market impact in Widening countries by:

  • offering 60 early‑career researchers a 12‑month mobility in industry;
  • delivering five themed learning modules, including ROHEALTH’s module on EU funding & innovation finance;
  • drafting Personal Career Development Plans that translate research into entrepreneurial action;
  • creating an open Learning Environment for tools, resources and best practices.

ROHEALTH contributes to the design of training content and leads one of the five learning modules — focusing on Access to EU Funding and Innovation Finance, strengthening the entrepreneurial mindset of young researchers in health and bioeconomy fields.

On 3–4 July 2025, the official Kick-off Meeting of the BOOST – Building Outstanding Opportunities for Science and Talent project took place in Sofia, Bulgaria. The event brought together representatives of all 16 consortium partners, setting the foundation for coordinated collaboration, aligning on next steps, and defining roles across work packages. ROHEALTH was proudly represented by Ștefan Căliman – Senior Project Manager, and Teodora Pamfile – Junior Project Manager, who actively contributed to the discussions and strategic planning sessions.
